Draper James, Nashville, TN

If you were to ask me my favorite season, more than likely, I’m going to say fall, but I’ve really been enjoying the warmer months this year. I’m sure I’ll regret it later as the humidity keeps on keepin’ on, but weeding out and refreshing my summer wardrobe and checking off some warm-weather spots on the map has kept me pretty entertained this season.

While I was out shopping during a recent girls’ trip to Nashville I took with my mom, aunt and sister (more to come), we happened upon Draper James, Reese Witherspoon’s flagship clothing, home and accessories store. I’d heard so many great things about it – including the fact that they serve sweet tea while you shop(!) – but being on vacation and engulfed in the charming environment of the shop made every piece that much more enticing (signs of great merchandising!).

The first thing I latched onto was this white lace, bell-sleeved top quietly waiting in the middle of a rack for an unsuspecting shopper to discover it (me), but after three laps around the store, I ended up taking home a comfy “Goodness Gracious” sweatshirt to dress up and down with denim, skirts and other most-loved pieces currently in my closet.

I’m not usually a very preppy dresser, but so much of the Draper James line is versatile and could be mixed and matched with pieces I already have at home.

Needless to say, I’m a fan. And bonus points for so much of the line being July 4th ready! I kind of really love this limited edition crossbody for the holiday.

We’ll be heading to a beach for the next two weekends, so I’m doing my best to fill my bags with something other than my usual denim cutoffs and a tee, but I’m trying to have a variety – I’ve also noticed I tend to gravitate toward long pants and long sleeves. It’s a problem. So we may be seeing more of Draper James’ trendy, charming pieces coming home with me in the near future. I don’t hate it.
